The LEAF Coalition welcomes E.ON

On July 27, 2021, E.ON SE formally announced its participation in the Lowering Emissions by Accelerating Forest finance (LEAF) Coalition. With the addition of E.ON, the first company from the energy sector, the LEAF Coalition now includes ten corporate participants. Leonhard Birnbaum, CEO of E.ON, stated “E.ON is an energy company uniquely positioned to contribute to the decarbonization of our society and economy. As a member of the LEAF Coalition, we are participating on a grander scale to tackle climate change. This Coalition has brought together a diverse set of ambitious leaders for climate action to protect tropical forests as vitally important ecosystems and support sustainable development. We are proud to be doing our part.” The LEAF Coalition welcomes E.ON at this critical juncture ahead of COP26.
